Design freedom and modular integration
Window Glass Encapsulation
Modular window encapsulation made of Bayflex MP/WR
Paintable (IMC) or light-resistant Bayflex® is used to encapsulate windows and glass roofs. Due to its excellent flowability and processing pressures that are lower than is the case with injection molding, the material is particularly suitable for large, curved windows.
Furthermore, inserts such as antennas, cables and hinges can be integrated with no problems through the use of RIM technology. A distinction is made between Bayflex® MP, Bayflex® WR and Bayflex® LSR. If weather-resistance is required, Bayflex MP needs to be coated with In-Mold-Coating (IMC) or the already weather-resistant Bayflex WR is the product of choice. For highest UV-resistance the aliphatic Bayflex LSR should be used.
- Good flowability and low processing pressures
- Fast demould times (35 - 40 s for Bayflex® MP and Bayflex® WR, 60 s for Bayflex® LSR)
- Low water absorption
- Insert integration capability
- Paintable (IMC)
- UV-resistant (Bayflex® WR/LSR)
