High thermal insulation means environmental protection
Insulating Houses with polyurethanes
Against the backdrop of an impending climate change caused by the increasing greenhouse effect, saving energy is one of today's prime objectives with a view to saving resources and to reducing CO2 emissions. Furthermore legal regulations and ordinances compel us cut down on energy consumption and to improve thermal insulation in buildings.
The building and construction industry is the biggest customer for rigid foam as a thermal insulating material. With its high-performance insulating system Baymer® and the Desmodur® products, Covestro supplies raw materials for the manufacture of building materials for cost-efficient construction. Owing to polyurethanes rigid foam's low thermal conductivity, it is possible to save more than half of the average heating energy consumed, particularly in older, poorly insulated buildings.
